Small details make a big difference at Two St. Peter’s Square

At the heart of Manchester, Two St. Peter’s Square is a premium workplace designed by Simpson Haugh and completed in 2017. With BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating, the building reflects a commitment to quality and sustainability.

That attention to detail continues. From carefully selected products to a signature fragrance, every element is designed with the comfort of tenants and visitors in mind. Being prepared for the weather is one of those small details that makes a difference.
“A premium workplace experience is about anticipating those small moments and making people's lives easier. Dripdrop does exactly that.”
— Atika Ahmad, Two St. Peter’s Square

Unexpected rain and wet umbrellas created challenges

Before introducing Dripdrop, tenants regularly brought individual umbrellas into the building. On rainy days, wet umbrellas moving through the foyer would drip onto the floor, creating a potential slip hazard.

There was another everyday frustration too: arriving at work without an umbrella, only for Manchester's weather to change just as you needed to head out for lunch, a meeting or the journey home. The team saw an opportunity to solve both challenges with one simple amenity.

Rainy day solutions without adding complexity

The team wanted a solution that felt at home within a Grade A workplace without creating another operational burden.
“Dripdrop stood out for its compact, attractive design and simple rental concept. It solved a common problem without adding complexity for the team.”
— Atika Ahmad, Two St. Peter’s Square
That simplicity has become part of everyday life at Two St. Peter’s Square. Tenants use the umbrellas for everything from lunch and meetings to simply stepping outside for a few minutes.

Since introducing Dripdrop, the building team has noticed fewer occupiers bringing their own umbrellas into the building, while tenants have embraced the convenience of having one available whenever they need it.

“People love the flexibility and convenience, especially when Manchester’s weather suddenly turns rainy. They know they can always count on the building’s umbrellas to keep them dry.”

A reliable service that’s easy to manage

For a facilities team balancing countless priorities, a good amenity shouldn't create extra work. Reliability and simplicity are just as important behind the scenes as convenience is for the people borrowing the umbrellas.

Dripdrop has required very little ongoing effort from the Two St. Peter’s Square team. With a fully managed service, the building can offer a convenient amenity without taking on the responsibility of managing umbrella stock, maintenance and day-to-day operations. And when support has been needed, the response has been quick and helpful.
“As an FM, issues can come out of nowhere and we can often be dealing with ten different things at once. The fact that the stand is so reliable makes our lives much easier.”
— Atika Ahmad, Two St. Peter’s Square

2,964 umbrella rentals have helped fund 131 kg of plastic recovery

Dripdrop has given Two St. Peter’s Square a way to connect a practical workplace amenity with measurable environmental impact. Through Dripdrop's partnership with rePurpose Global, umbrella rentals help fund the recovery of ocean-bound plastic waste in Indonesia.

Together, occupiers and visitors at Two St. Peter’s Square have contributed to funding the recovery of 131 kg of plastic waste, demonstrating how everyday use of a simple amenity can support a wider environmental initiative. Along the way, the building reached an important milestone: 100 kg of plastic waste recovery, giving the team and building a reason to celebrate.

A 100 kg milestone became a memorable workplace experience

The 100 kg milestone coincided with the launch of a new limited-edition umbrella design, creating the perfect opportunity to bring the building community together.

The Dripdrop team visited Two St. Peter’s Square for a day of trivia, treats and conversations. Occupiers stopped on their way through the building to play, chat and learn more about the umbrellas they had been borrowing and the collective impact they had helped create.

For Atika, the value went beyond celebrating the milestone. What started as a practical rainy-day solution had become an opportunity to engage occupiers, celebrate a shared achievement and create a memorable moment in the workplace.
